Stacked rail fence:

The stacked rails vary in a number ways - thick, thin, flat, square, twisted, tapered, etc. I usually start with a heavy or twisted rail on the bottom, a couple of pretty looking ones second and third, thin ones
fourth, and medium sized straight or tapered rails for the top. No thin ones on the top - they're going to get leaned on. Tapered rails also work great on the ends where you finish without a post. Such fences require much more timber than other types of fences, and so are not common in areas where wood are scarce or expensive. Usually the cedar logs were split end to end to form several pieces from each log. The pieces, called rails, were stacked on top of one another. Most split rail fences had the rails stacked in an interlocking zigzag fashion that is self-supporting, easy to create, easy to repair, and easy to disassemble. Log fences or split rail fences were simple fences constructed in newly cleared areas by stacking log rails. Some timber fences had the rails stacked directly on top of each other and secured them with double fence posts (one on either side of the rails). This made a more permananent and compact fence but remained easy to repair. The stacked rail fence is used by the plumbers, carpenters to make wood things.

The uses of stacked rail fence:

The stacked rail fence is used by the carpenters and in olden days the stacked rail fence was mostly used. These fences are perfect for any application, from golf course fences to livestock corrals. These fences can be painted to suit any color scheme desired. Created and installed using steel reinforced rails and posts, the durability found in these fences is unmatched. even stacked" method where each log has both ends on top of the previous log (not shown here, the "uneven stacked" method is where each log has one end on top of the last log and the other end under the next log
